Scheduled Messaging Updates / Fixes

We realize the importance of the AMO Scheduled Messaging system working correctly, and we will continually try to improve this system and make it as reliable as possible.
With some of the recent issues, we have now made the following updates to the Scheduled Messaging System:

– You can now change the Date / Time of a Scheduled Email; at the moment, if you need to make edits to the content, you will need to cancel the scheduled message and create a new one. We are investigating the ability to change the content, but it is a more complex task.

– The Scheduled Messaging Script is now separated into two different systems, one for Member Messaging and Event Messaging. Previously, these were executed together, so if one failed, it would cause the other one to fail – that is no longer an issue.

– We have now updated the Scheduled Email Queue to display future scheduled emails and any unsent past emails so you can now see/manage/delete any unsent past scheduled emails should any issues arise. In the worst-case scenario where it isn’t sent it won’t automatically be resent when the issue is resolved.

My Continuing Education / Self-Reported Education Updates

To keep AMO aligned with our latest updates, we have moved the Self-Reported Education area to the My Continuing Education area in the Member Center.
We understand this is a significant change; previously, this was in the My Event History area, and the Self-Reported Education area was developed before the My Continuing Education area.

Now that the My Continuing Education Area exists for Members to be able to download past Certificates, the Self-Reported Education is more fitting to be placed there instead.

New Dues Percentage Options

We have now added the ability to either add a Dues Surcharge or a Dues Discount with Percentages instead of just flat dollar amounts.
Both areas are on the Dues Management > Dues Types > Dues Details Screen.

Suppress Comments Field on Event Registrations

We have added a box in the Event Settings area to turn off the Comments Box on the Event Registration Screen. Thank you to those who provided feedback for this update.

Member Advanced Grid Filters Update

For those of you using the Advanced Grid Filters in the Member Management > Individuals / Organizations area, we have added two more fields for Phone Number and Mobile Phone.

Bypass Expired Member Functionality

Last year, we added the ability to show different Member Center Views based on Member Type. We’ve added an update to override the Expired Member functionality in AMO for those who have created a view for Non-Members / Expired Members.

Added reCaptcha to Classified Ads

Classified Ads now includes the Google reCaptcha system to help prevent spam/bots from filling out the forms.

Open Invoices Member Center Consolidation

We have now moved all open invoices for Members to the My Payment History area. All Dues, General, and Events invoices are now displayed here.

New Individual Report Filter

Added “Opt Out of Broadcast Emails” as an Individual Report Filter. This will help you run a report for people who have opted out or are receiving Emails.

New Merge Tags

We have now added three new Merge Tags –

This will display the Current Date Below:

~[[date_of_email]]~

This will display their Member Type Below:

~[[member_type_name]]~

This will display the License Number Field Below:

~[[license_nbr]]~

Committee / Group Connection Updates

Some may recall we did a significant update to our Group system to add people from Committees to an appropriate Group automatically.
After further feedback from several of you – we have added a new toggle that will now have members be added to the Committees if they join the Group from the Member Center.

This will help make the Committee / Group Connections essentially a two-way street. If you have these Groups available for Members to join on the front end and want them to be reflected in the connected Committee Area, please be aware of what this setting does before turning it on.

AMO Quality of Life Updates / Fixes

Scheduled Email Bug Fixes

We resolved two separate bugs with the Scheduled Email System. These were part of the issues on why the Scheduled Email system failed.
– Fixed Salutation Error for Scheduled Member Emails with the “Not In” Parameters selected
– Fixed “Opt Out of Broadcast Emails” issue on Scheduled Emails with Not In Option and Custom Fields

Verified Email Senders Update

When you go to the Association Home > Verified Senders Email Area, AMO will now automatically look up the verification instead of having to click the button.
If something changes or is un-verified, it’ll let you know as soon as you enter that area.

Event Invoice – Country Update

Country will now be added to the Event PDFs if the Address of the Country of the Attendee is not USA, US, or United States.
This will help International Customers give their Members for Events more accurate info.

We hope you enjoy the October updates here.
Please reach out to help@amohq.com if you have any questions about anything here!
Thank you all for the continued feedback on AMO!
