How To: Set-Up Event Activities and Activity Groups

Event Activities and Activity Groups are the tools that really make Event Management powerful for registration and for reporting purposes. For example, we’ll set up two activity groups – a morning session and an afternoon session. There will be two activity options in the morning session and 3 activity options in the afternoon. We will allow attendees to register for 1 of the morning session activity and we will let the attendees register for 2 activities in the afternoon.

 

How To: Add An Event Activity

1. Navigate to Event Management >> Events

2. Click “Edit” Icon next to the Event

3. Click “Activities” Tab, Select Current Activities

4. Click Green “Plus” Icon to create a new Activity for the Event

5. The following screen will appear to add further details to the Activity:

Activity Name

  • Name this activity.

Display order

  • This is the order in which this Activity Group will appear on the registration page. Start with “0” for the Morning Session.

Maximum Choices

  • This field dictates how many of the activities the attendees may register for within the Activity Group. We’ll allow 1 selection from this Activity Group.
  • You may choose to require a registration from this Activity Group or you can make it the whole group optional.

Description

  • Give the Activity Group a description.
How To: Add an Event Activity Group

1. Navigate to Event Management >> Events

2. Click “Edit” Icon next to the Event

3. Navigate to the Activities Tab, select Activity Groups

4. Click the Green Plus Icon to add a new Activity Group

5. Fill out the following fields:

 

Group Name

  • Name this activity group. We will call the first group “Morning Session”

Display order

  • This is the order in which this Activity Group will appear on the registration page. Start with “0” for the Morning Session.

Maximum Choices

  • This field dictates how many of the activities the attendees may register for within the Activity Group. We’ll allow 1 selection from this Activity Group.
  • You may choose to require a registration from this Activity Group or you can make it the whole group optional.

Description

  • Give the Activity Group a description.

 

Repeat this steps to add the Afternoon Session but change make the display order “1” and Maximum Choices field to “2”.
